Basque Marraduna

Also known as the Euskal Oiloa or Basque Hen, these chickens originated in the Basque Mountains in the northern Iberian Peninsula. “Marraduna” denotes the red cuckoo variety. We find them to be some of the best and most voracious foragers on our farm while still being exceptionally friendly, unlike the lighter, flightier ranging breeds such as Leghorns and Anconas.
